Aces and Eights Video Poker - Play for Fun
Aces and Eights Instructions
In this version of Aces and Eights, there is a slight difference with the paychart (when compared to this Aces and 8's game). The payouts are more for the Full House (8x instead of 7x) and the Straight Flush (70x instead of 50x). Aside from this, the two games are the same.
However, this does show the importance of shopping around for the paycharts offered by different casinos. This game is offered by Microgaming, whereas the other Aces and 8's game is created by RTG. While this only translates into less than 1% difference in house advantage, it's still always better to go with the better paychart.
Game Instructions
First, select you coin size by clicking on the -/+ buttons. Then, click on the Bet One button to choose between 1 to 5 coins and click the Deal button to receive the cards. You can also just click the Bet Max button to automatically play 5 coins and receive your cards.
You can choose to hold any, all or none of the 5 cards that you receive. The computer will automatically try to help you by holding certain cards by default. You can choose to listen to the computer or choose your own cards to hold.
If you receive a pair of Jacks or higher, you will receive a payment on your bet. You can then choose to Double or Collect. I would only suggest that you do this if you have won an even money bet with a pair of Jacks, Queens, Kings or Aces.
If you choose to Double, you are risking your winnings and betting that you will be able to pick a higher card than the dealer. The 2 is the lowest card and the aces is the highest card. The dealer will receive the first card dealt and it will be flipped up for you to see. You will have to pick one of the four cards to win.
You are not guaranteed a winning card out of the four cards. If the dealer draws a Queen, King or Ace, you are likely going to lose.
